Story 1- ( Mama Chow)
One day during the coarse of my routine, I came across a Chow dog who had given birth to her pups, in the roots of a huge Banyan tree. I left dog food for them but the ( mama chow ) did not appear friendly at all. She would make a large circle out, when i would approach, circling around growling and snarling... coming back closer to see what I was doing around her pups. I came back after work for a few days to leave food for them and everyday was the same, ( Mama Chow ) would growl and snarl and circle back, forcing me to move away from the pups. Curious of their situation, I asked the caretaker of the property, " Who they belonged to? And He told me they were dumped and left wild. The owners of the properties had asked him to poison them, since they were too wild to catch...:( These types of situations always sadden me, so I offered to help and asked for some time to work with the Mama and her pups in hopes of befriending them enough to catch and find new homes for them, hopefully before they met their demise, from a different means, than God had intended...(* It is not legal to poison, shoot or injure an animal, unless they are attacking humans or livestock.), the caretaker gladly agreed to give me some time.
So every day for a week, I went to feed them and every day the same...growling...snarling...circling, no change for Mama Chow, but the pups were getting friendly enough so I could pick them up now. So I devised a plan to trap ( Mama Chow ). I brought hamburger, chicken and more dog food for the attempt. I left the back of my SUV open, placed all the pups inside with some food and then I hid behind some bushes waiting for the Mama to make her circle...growling...snarling...circling...OK! here she comes back... waiting...waiting, OK she's moving closer now...she's up and in with the pups...SLAM the hatch....
Gotcha!!! OK yes!!! This is great right? All my hard work payed off, I finally had them...No!!! Oh no!!! How do you drive an SUV with a snarling....growling ( Mama Chow ), who is now eating your car?
Confucius says : "If you can't teach an old dog new tricks...Leave it alone."
Confused says: " If you find an old dog in your SUV... unload the pups and rethink your position."
I'm certain this is a true story - knowing you like I do!!! CD
