I hurt, for "The Abandoned Pets and Animals Everywhere"! I cry, "For The One".

The Tales and Stories are all over, the latest means of Public Media, "The Internet",  which has given us a much broader audience to help us with Our Connections.
There are people working everywhere to save these animals from, " The Certain Death", of Our City streets and Our Animal Controls. It is not the Animal Controls to blame for the Pet Over-populations...
It is ourselves and what we learn as we grow.
I hurt for the ones that have little chance of getting adopted, knowing their eventual fate...tears my Heart out.
I Commend and Respect, Rescuer's everywhere for doing everything they possibly can, by spending countless hours/days /and Lifetimes, in Support of these Pets. We always wonder and question Ourselves. Is, what We do for them really enough? Do they really find their Forever Homes? Why do We Transport to other areas that are over-loaded as well? They have the very same problems, and in many cases more... (due to population). But they also have other advantages such as grant funds/ more exposure to the greatest number of available homes/ more funds for the Medical needs/ and stiffer Law enforcements for the Protection of these Animals...So Yes we Do! We do anything possible and sometimes the seemingly, "Impossible".
No Matter where you are or how much you have to spend, These animals only know, "One Thing" and in most cases, It's quite possibly the "Best Thing ", they've have ever known...And that is, how much each and every person that handles them, does it with a "Love for Them"...Just for the One, "You do make a Difference For"! We cannot Stop...Because People won't Stop...!

I Love You All... Each and Everyone of You...and All your Tireless Efforts in the drive to end,  the Needless suffering of Pets. Due to Over-Breeding. But it's Always the "One",  I know in my. that Heart, who  is sick/injured/old/blind/mangy/wormy/tick infested/ill-tempered/wrong breed/wrong color or
too costly...These are the Ones who are doomed...never to find a true place to call, "Home".
That is what makes me cry  :(  ``

$ If only I had a million dollars $

I'd build them all a home..., in God's World because it's not just mine...
So they would never have to cross that "Rainbow Bridge", too soon or alone to die;
Until they've lived, "They're Time", as "I".
A time of Love, a Time of a Dog to Run and Play...
A time to roll in the sun and grass, until He has lived, "His Day"!
Un-abused and unconfused about "Who Cares"?

Confucius Says:    Please use your Heart before you Breed
Confused Says:    The needs of the Too Many...Out-weigh the needs of, "The One..."
 please, please start crying too!

My initial goal in these notes, was to increase awareness's, for others to avoid possible dangerous situations with regards to, "Pet's"... mostly dogs. Because dogs are more closely relative to society and seem to have the most problems regarding, "Dog Bites".
We have a lot of people in our daily lives that just don't take the responsibilities of pet ownership seriously. Or they are not aware of the dangerous situations they can encounter. Pets are like guns, in the wrong hands are very dangerous.
I will first tell you of a personal story to show that I do have experience in the matter of how it feels to be the victim of a dangerous dog attack and what I learned from it...
Art the age of 5, our family was visiting one of my many Aunt's house on a hot summer day. As I recall  it was pretty normal for our Parent's to send us children outside to play, because kids are very loud and noise y! And the grown-ups just love to talk and catch up on all the news of the family...leaving us to be watched by the older kids (sometimes not a good idea, because the older kids are always thinking of ways to pull dumb stunts on the younger kids), but mostly it's just a part of being a kid...Just as a biting dog is part of being a dog...
Anyway there was 5 or 6 of us kids running around the swing set in the yard, playing (Tag), climbing up the ladder and sliding down the slide. Chasing each other, laughing, playing having a good ole time. It was so much fun to us, that my Aunt's German Shepard decided she would join in the fun and started to chaise us
too. We, being just kids... did not know how doing this for a couple of hours would affect the dog...just being a dog...( Dogs after chasing prey for long periods of time, get very worked-up into a frenzy and with no controls or discipline can become the next new's story in your Family to talk about around the table).
On the last time up the ladder, the dog grabbed me by the cuff in my pants and jerked me off the ladder,
and to the ground I fell... From then on is somewhat of a blur, but I'm sure that I was crying for my parents...as was the other kids. ( Crying while being attacked is taken by a dog, to mean that you are the weakest of the litter and can cause an attack to become more vicious), Because the dog had begun to bite my face and throat...then I heard my Dad yelling and kicking at the dog to get him off me... my Mom picked me up, Bleeding everywhere from the encounter and started running down the street to the nearest hospital,
( in those days it wasn't very close) so I'm glad my dad got the car!
As a result of all this I had 27 stitches to my face and throat, and back then there was only one way to determine if the dog had rabies. So they destroyed My Aunt's Dog and sent It's head to be tested...
The part of this story that I truly am sorry for, because now days we know we can hold a animal  for 10-Days quarantine instead of destroying, someone's beloved pet.:(
I began a series of rabies shot's which caused me more pain than getting bit, because I was allergic. So for 7 more days I suffered with intense itching, scratching and having my hands tied so I couldn't scratch till I bled... But all said and done, my Mom always said, she didn't understand why I Loved Animals so much?
I would grow to understand that accidents do happen, with no intentions by anyone...Just us Kids being Kids and My Parents being Parents and a Dog being a Dog and none of us Thinking...
"What could Happen"?

Confused Says: " I am still trying to help other Dogs, to make-up for My Aunt Losing Her's"...:(

My Family Pet is still Missing.... Do I want to think the worst?
Or should I consider where the real Blame lies?

"Wild Predators", of  your  Family Pet's!
  • Alligators, that lie in wait at sources of water for your unsuspecting pet.
  • Bob Cats/Cougars/Bears/Wolves/Coyote's/ and even larger birds of prey such as : Eagles/Great Horned Owls can do serious do serious harm, When they mistake your small Pet for a rabbit or squirrel...
  • While coons and possums don't usually kill your pet for food, they can cause serious injury and transmit diseases that can...KILL. (Keep your pets Vaccinated). Rabies, which is contagious to Humans causes certain Death...and there is no cure!
  • "Last But not Least" is the,"Human Predator"...The Most Dangerous of all...

What could Humans do to my "Family Pet", and "Why"?
The answers to this is not easy to talk about, because there are so many. Sometimes things happen by accident and sometimes through no fault of anyone specific. Most often because we don't stop and think, "Prevention First"! And then there's the "nature of the beast", which does come into play also. Whether it's
the Pet itself / The Owner/ Or the Stranger, and yes even our Neighbor's. There are thousands of stories regarding incidences/accidents with Pet's, on the internet and in the news, with  everyday bringing new ones. Are they accidents or incidents?
Which is worse? I don't know the answer to that one yet, but I do know that most, "Are Preventable with a little Forethought ".
As I said before, "Ignorance is not Bliss", when it comes to You,Your Family, Your Friends or Your Pets,
being needlessly Harmed, maimed, Lost or even Killed . Most of times, It's your Pet that pays the price!
 Children:
Will tease and torment dogs, tied or confined in cages and fenced yards...Why?
Because it gives them a false sense of safety. As well as something to laugh at!
Notice that I said, False Sense of Safety!!!
Because dogs in these types of situations are too often teased into such a frenzied state. Day after
day, week after week, And month after month, they become more aggressive by instincts. It is there instinct to protect where they live...if it's a fenced yard/ a kennel run/ or on a 15' chain ..." It Does Not Matter",  when he get's loose... If  he don't bite you out of the built-up aggressions, over being teased daily, He will bite you out of fear for himself... Because Now He is Loose and He Can! Please do not overlook these situations... your dog can break a chain/ rope/ or collar... especially if it's made in china...!  He can dig out or jump/climb over and even go through a fence. I have seen dogs chew through 2x4's on wooden cages and Chain link on kennel doors.

 Adults:
Will harm your pet for reasons beyond reasoning...
Dog Fights: (sick)(very sad)(Abusive)-bragging rights/money

Theft: (sick and sad), This act is usually done to support fighting and drugs and should be added to The  "War on Crime" with stiffer legal penalties for violations.
In economic hard times some do this to gain from reward money's offered...money (Sad and sick) No pet, likes being Lost or Stolen from it's Family and the only Love they know.

Breeding (sad) because the taxes and burdens shared by others, is an ever increasing problem so these people can stay in the business of making money off others and the countless lives of "Breed dogs", that wind up in shelters or euthanized every YEAR!  (Money and more Money... but who's making the money And at what price to pay? ( Just to add mention ...We the People should not support these businesses. And promote bans of all exotic imports into this country except by certain responsible caretakers of these species. Permitted only under strict guidelines to protect, and preserve Natural Habitats. Until politicians take up these positions, they are not on board with protecting the environment for anyone)!

Barking (sick) and very very sad, that anyone would Beat and Glue a Dog's Mouth Shut...But it's in the news and if I were the owner, I would 1st asked myself did my dog bark incessantly when he was outside? and how long was he outside to do this? Was he fenced in? was there any holes where he could have escaped through? Could it be a neighbor that don't like barking and driven to such a horrendous action...as to lean over my fence pick my dog up, take him inside his house, beat him for barking and then glue his mouth shut with super glue, so he would never bark again... not realizing his actions would cause this dog's death? "Ignorance is not Bliss"!

Friends/Family/Neighbors:
Don't want dogs in their yards/ parks or on sidewalks/ don't like dogs/ don't like you/ don't like children...  (Very unhappy people in general), and they are the ones that put nails/tacks/poison in cheeses and drop them in dog parks and in Halloween candy, (in the news too). Antifreeze in water left outside for your, "At large Pet's".
Unfortunately these are just a few of Life's Problems for Family's with Pets. And people that commit these acts don't know that, God created the world for everyone....not just "Themselves"! Here's my word that isn't a word. "Co-Habitation"!

Confucius says:  He read in the news yesterday of a man in Florida who sawed his dogs leg off with a handsaw... What kind of Justice should he get? And What kind will he get? Do we know "Why"?  No...
Is it excusable? or sick? or both? or none of the above? Will we march for this Dog's Justice?
Probably not because he's just a dog....But this I say to you..."Here is where social behaviors begins..." with the exception, that this man was an adult...But what is he teaching his children? And What are you teaching yours by not bringing,"Justice to such Crimes"?

Confused says: All things are punishable, Under God's Law and through Him...Under Man's Law? Dunno...

Tales from The Dog House: My  Family Pet is MISSING! My 1st advice for this...

Tales from The Dog House: My  Family Pet is MISSING!
 My 1st advice for this...
: My  Family Pet is MISSING!  My 1st advice for this problem is....To get out there and start looking as soon as you can't find your dog ...
My  Family Pet is MISSING!

  •  My 1st advice for this problem is....To get out there and start looking as soon as you can't find your dog at home...!!!  The sooner you start to put the word out, the better chance you have of finding your pet.
  • Call your Animal Control Officer.
  • Call or go to your neighbor's for help.
  • Neighborhood children on bicycles are a good resource.
  • Put up posters, (with reward's offered, will increases your chances) especially if you can afford more than someone might have paid for your pet...(usually $100.00-$200.00)
  • Post to all Local... Vet Clinics/Shelters/Area Stores/Facebook/Drive-Thru/Chicken Places/BBQ Places or any places which might be a food source for your, Lost Pet...
No matter where you live, your pet can get hit my by a passing car.( So, you  have a fenced yard ). Dogs dig, jump, chew and pull at anything that keeps them from their appointed rounds. And they usually want to go in the neighbor's yard. Or check out the dogs down the street, or just chaise things. These are all things your dog will do if left to his freedoms. Most dogs travel certain paths or areas when they are on the loose. They generally know where the water sources are in their areas. Sometimes if they are hit by passing cars (and no one stops to help them...), Depending on the extent of their injuries and if able to, they will drag themselves to the closest water sources. So check all nearby water locations to for your pet.
Which brings me to another danger, in areas where there are wild predators your dog can fall victim to any number of things. Live close to areas where alligators might be? Don't think, because you have a big dog, this won't happen to him...Gators lie in wait in areas where other animals go for their water sources. And they live there until, the source is depleted or gone. If you know your dog likes water, always check where he swims, often. Oh my dog is big enough to take care of a gator!
Not underwater...,Which is what a gator does. He will lie in wait, like a log, close to the bank, and in 1 sudden leap will have your dog in his powerful jaws, dragging him underwater then holding him there until,
he has drowned him...(Not a pretty sight to see if it's your own, "Beloved Family Pet"). Alligators have been known to eat small livestock, such as baby calves that can weigh up to75-100lbs, goats.chickens and pigs. A large alligator will take a 10-25lb pet in his jaws, crush him, drowned him, and then flip him around in his mouth to swallow him head first and whole...! Depending on the size of the gator and the size of the dog as to how many days he will feed on him. Take note if you have small children that play in these areas as well. Because when the food supply of smaller animals runs out and they get really hungry, your children can be next...Call your state's Wildlife Officer's and file a report for removal/relocation to protect both the alligator and your children...

Confucius says: "Children and pet's need parent's who protect them from all possible dangerous situations! So "Parent's" BEWARE!

Confused says:  It's not meant that your "Family Pet's" shouldn't have any freedoms to be just "Pets"...
But, that you should supervise/train/ and protect them...Teach them to be well trained, respectful, and sociable...Just as I and all your neighbors, hope you would teach your children...

There is an old saying, that says: "Ignorance is Bliss"!..."No it is not"!... Not when you lose something you Love!

I would say that today brings us to a point in time that we should and have to be more consciously aware of the predators in our lives. You might think that means, those with the sick minds, as to molest children. And it does if your a parent. Now more than ever you must be constantly aware, that there are Strangers/Friends/ and Family that will do unspeakable things to your innocent children. I say " innocent", because they are! Children begin much like puppies with natural instincts to explore, learn and grow. They know little fear until they get hurt  by something or someone. That's where Momma comes in to protect her young,( if she knows). Too often children are afraid of adults and are afraid too tell because they've been traumatized into believing something very bad will happen to them, if they do! So most times they bear the scars...Don't think, this is an excuse for continuing bad things because they were done to you...Use the scars to become a better person. Much like a puppy who's been hit by a car and survived...He learns not to chase cars! But to Avoid them! Sometimes if a "Momma Dog" doesn't like a person or the actions of a person, she will step in before her young is harmed, as should you, if your a parent.
People living in different areas of our communities with pets and children should be aware of all the dangerous things that could happen to them and take cautions to prevent harm to them. Pets are often thought of as possessions instead of, a  part of your family, that needs protecting as well.
This idea can lead to harm for your pets as well as to you and your family. When they get lost, harmed or threatened by accident or by predators.
Just imagine for a minute you have a dog in your family, he greets you everyday when you come home from work, he plays with your children without harm, he gets hugs and kisses and plenty of pats for being a good, loyal family dog!...Then he is Lost...Where could he be? He's always here when I come home. Oh he'll be back when it's time to eat...There's a lot to consider when faced with these things in, "Our Lives". Is he in the hands of a good person, who will help get him back home...or at the mercy of a predator that will effect him for the rest of his life, or end his life?  There was a story in the news yesterday about a woman's dog went missing from her yard *( fences are not dog proof or predator proof)...she searched everywhere with no results. Her dog came home the next day...*( Im sure after whoever had done such an awful thing was through getting their kicks, had released it). It had been beaten and it's mouth was glued shut...The dog was so traumatized it died... and somewhere among good decent people lives a very sick minded person, who is on the short track to becoming a serial killer/rapist/pedifile/ or all of the above. I so hope there was 1 among them or with him, that saw it and will step up and do the right thing and "TELL"!!! Someone surely at least heard the screams of this poor dog!

.....Then imagine for a minute... It's your, "Child"...that's missing!

Confucius says: "Spell check" says Pedifile, is not a word....So it should not exist!
Confused says: " Read more tips on "What to do when your dog goes missing"! Tomorrow....
( When you actually start looking for him)!

 Comments_

What are comments anyways? Do we really need them for some sort of justification of ourselves? I go there everyday looking...looking and looking but still not there. They are just words anyway. Words that are part of conversations, only if someone wants to talk. Only if what they have to say is felt as important information into someone's character or state of learning. What does it mean, if there is, "No Comment"? Hmmm...Don't want to talk about it...Don't want to think someone else may have a point...Don't want to learn anything else, "I'm perfect"...Or are you just not interested?
Comments are made for input, into conversations, as to what we have experienced or felt within our own lives to share with others, small parts of ourselves. To express likes, dislikes and specific interest. There are few things that are more powerful than the written or spoken word. They tell truths and they tell lies...But they mostly tell us, who we are as people. I often remember a saying, from my Mom, "Pretty is... as Pretty does"... Which to me means, you can say or write a lot of words but  there is no truth to them, If your "Actions" say different...So if we take actions and make comments, will it make us better people? (I do have to say I'm guessing it depends if your on Facebook/Google/Twitter/ or My space). Comments allow us to understand others and come together..As Friends... Or not! So "Please" say something....anything...
React/Read/Absorb/Learn/Reflect/Act/Live a little/ Leave a Comment....

Confucius says:    That isn't no "Dog Story"
Confused Says: Yeah, I know, but it was blocking the one in my head so I had to spit it out:)

This goes out to "ALL" Animal Rescue Friends everywhere...

A lot of, whom I've met and some whom, I have yet to meet and probably a lot that I will I will never get to meet. But I say these words from my heart... That I know of the terrible frustrations, we fight every day through and endless sea of hopelessness in that terrible dark hole I call "Animal Care"... Is it a business? I say not... most of the one's you meet are not rich with money only with the "Love of Animals"... and the "Heart to Care".
I do not say this lightly, because it eats at you everyday, how people can be so cruel and still call themselves human? But none the less you are still out there struggling with your feelings, picking up animals, that have been cast out from their homes and discarded like trash for the landfills. This is not a Business... you get barely enough to keep your efforts alive...but the animals keep coming because, People don't Stop to think. Or they just don't care...
I feel as though the efforts of us all has greatly improved with the internet and the ability to connect with each other is fantastic! I see it !!! everyday in the Internet via Facebook/Google/Petfinder/Petango/ and endless army of volunteers working to get homes for abandoned/abused/old/blind/crippled animals. You are the Frontlines between the Abusers and the Rescued (you are out there everyday on the local levels of our neighborhoods, doing the dirty work, without much help from Government  or National Organizations, although they do serve their purpose too, in getting publicity and laws changed to help us in doing what we do...
I just came here to "Thank Everyone", that I can't Thank in person...and pray that we can all continue in our efforts together, because we all have the same "Heart"... And just like, "The Little Boy on the Beach", "We can't save them all, but we can save one at a time!"

Positions Available Always
Neighbors / to call or pick-up abandoned pet's / make reports of abuses
Animal Control Officers/ to care and manage Animals and people (often impossible to do and mostly a thankless job) governed by local laws... and "you the people"... if you have problems in this area attend meetings and make it known you want changes...don't take it out on the ones sent to do the dirty work...you have elected officials who control these matters.
Volunteers / Community service persons / to clean poop / pick ticks / give flea baths and just overall help at your local Animal Control...They are short staffed because of budget cuts and the Animal Controls are always the last on the list to receive County funds.
Judges / take note of where to send offenders...save tax $'s. help your own local services...
Politicians / to help pass laws to protect animals from people.
Transporters / For travels in-between locations. / gas / food / water  / rest stops / poop bags.
Foster Homes / for temporary housing / cleaning / feeding / caring of:

Rescuers /Adoption Agencies for housing, vet care and health checks, medications
Internet/Radio/Television for putting it out there...in our face, to bring us together in our goals.
Donors  /  for money / soap / bleach / towels / blankets / dog and cat beds / cages / food.
Forever Homes /  because you are our real reward... At Last!
And Last but not least of all these are all, The DVM's who have ever Volunteered or worked at Spay / Neuter shelter! They chose to be Veterinarian's to help animal's as a profession.
But have dedicated their lives to the simple cause of prevention...an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cures. Saves Money and Saves Lives... I wish the rest of us could learn from your  years of college and experiences. And no it doesn't always end as we hope and pray for, but we must continue because it is in, "Us All"... to hold the lost ones in our hearts and  keep on trying for the ones who have yet to be saved.
I Thank you all for the many travels of a dog or cat from the streets of, My Hometown, to the streets, pastures, and endless green fields to run in, of : A Forever Home... Where dog can be... just a happy simple dog.... with a family who watches over them and loves them...

Decision 2012 Contest (Animal Planet)

http://animal.discovery.com/decision-2012/

Hi  All

Just few words to ask everyone to cast your vote on animal planet for "Thumper". She is a tiny black and white papillon mix born with only 2-hind legs. Her breeder no longer wanted her around the other dogs, he was trying to sell, so he put her in a carrier and dumped her at a local shelter. Which I might add is better than dumping them in the streets. She has taught me so much about the " Heart of a Dog", than I could ever imagine!
At first after I adopted her, I was set on getting her some wheels, so she could get around better...
But I soon learned that the wheels were much too heavy for her tiny body. They made her fall over and she would get this really puzzled look on her little face like, "What are you doing to me, I thought you loved me?"
Most everyone that meets her for the 1st time, says the same thing...she needs a wheelchair!
I say little Thumper, needs only love to fill her heart. Because we look at her and  her disability...she looks at herself as just another dog, a little different maybe but  still just as big as the other dogs.So please help her to win this contest...you can vote once a day and it only takes a few minutes of your time. Help "Thumper", to overcome the 4-legged dogs! Because like her, "You Can"
ps. Thanks

Not all Dog's are what we expect, neither are Human's (Humane?)hummm...conundrum

My  experiences through my work took me many places, where dogs lived. Through this I became acquainted with many different breeds of dogs. All different, just like people you have to take the time to get to really know them. ( Co-habitate)...Some pretty, some cute, some ugly, some smart and some just plain dangerous. Most of the dogs I met reflect on their owners as to their dispositions. But,  "Never, count on that"!! Dogs are dogs..., and left alone with there instincts and some guidance, usually turn out pretty Great! But there's always the unexpected responses that leave us in a world of trouble's.
It's not too pretty or cute when anyone gets bit or attacked by a dog, but it is their only defense and their instincts are to protect their home and masters. These are natural instincts, not ones you have to encourage by teasing or playing rough, or teaching them to catch things like other animals. They do need training but it should be to control them, not to make them mean or dangerous! They are suppose to be treated as "Family Pets" in order to socialize with people. A "Mean Dog", is a dead dog under most social conditions. There has to be rules to protect the people? But What about the rules for protecting  animals? When I started this story, my intent was to tell you a Rottweiler story, but now I think I'm being re-directed  to the conditions and rules to control animals.
Let's explore this for a minute...#1- all dogs must be kept in a fenced yard, enclosure, or on a leash...( This law provides for the protections of people)...only sometimes. Translated this means, I can feel safe knowing that I have left my dog chained to a tree or a dog house ( because Law #2 says you must provide shelter from the elements for your pet) or he's in his dog pen. And he won't be able to bite anyone... all day...for weeks and months, everyday while I'm at work. Every day I feed him, water him, and give him time off the chain or out of the pen... Then I put him back up for another work-week. Dog pens are not animal cages, they are es capable too if not made from sturdy materials.. I have seen dogs chew through 2x6's.
What happens to this dog? The dog you Love and care for, when you are away?
Your dog will defend his territory. Why? Because you are not there to tell him what he should do. Most dogs that feel threatened by a stranger, will react by running away a short distance and then bark and growl to warn them away. And most times this works with adults...But what about the children who don't know any better, than to want to play with the dog, just like their own family dog? If you have your dog chained or caged please make sure you check the enclosure, chain and collar for any weaknesses. Constant lunging, can cause these to break and your chained dog is now loose on the approaching child...
1-your dog has just broke his chain and it scared him...
2-the approaching child is scaring him...
3-your dog is use to protecting his 15' or 20' area
4-your not home
5- the parents of the child are not watching their child either?
6-your dog winds up in the pound for biting a child...Why? Because he just did what you trained him to do...
Protect his 15'-20' home from an approaching stranger.
7- depending on how bad the attack was....will determine whether or not your dog will be put to "Death"
(In  most severe cases the dog loses)! People tend to want to avoid Law Suits so they opt. to kill the animals.
I must add that this procedure was done in the "Old days", to avoid the possibility of transmitting rabies. And the dog's head was sent for testing. But now days medicine has discovered that the animal can be quarantined for 10-days, and observed for symptoms. * There is no cure for rabies...only Preventatives... Have your animals vaccinated... Just my opinion, but your child would prefer you choose the 2nd option.

Confucius says: The only "Good Dog", has a "Good Owner "! One that protects him from the "Laws".
Confused says: I'm still confused as to "Why"? Our Pet Laws don't include instruction manuals...

 Parents and Pet Owners "Beware"!
Just because your dog has never offered to bite a child, or anyone else, doesn't mean he won't. Too many times I've heard..." My dog would never bite a child". And if he does I'll shoot him!
Now I don't suppose that the dog actually knows what his owner has in store for him, if he bites a child? And I for 1 sure hope he never finds out either! A dog bites mostly from fear and biting is their only defense, especially if they don't know the person approaching (running up) , touching (trying to pet or hug them as children do.) Because a child does not know the dangers in life and view all things with an open hearts. For this reason parents must be especially aware of  all the dangers  that they may face, and stay vigilant with them, Watch them as a Mama dog watches her pups. Protect them from strange animals, strange people and even passing cars. And Pet owners must stay just as vigilant with their pets. Kids love animals, and they will be teaching your children some very important lessons in Life... How to care...How to Love...and be Loved right back..Your children will laugh, play and cry with their own pets and they need them too...It's your job to teach them to "Beware of Strangers" people and animal's. Pet's are a part of your family and just a bite is a lot different than an actual attack. Have the wisdom to know the difference! I hope your children don't have to wonder about you when you shoot the Family dog? Or if their next. "Being safe," is a better feeling, than being sorry...
I knew a man once who, when i was but a child. I saw him beat a horse in the head with a 2x4... and maybe it taught me a lesson that I carry with me to this day... as I stood there looking at the blood running down the face of my favorite animal, I cried! Daddy...Daddy please, please, Stop, Stop...but too late the damage was done, there was no Wisdom in his choice and my feelings were forever changed.....for him.

As for me? I still have the love of, "The Horse".

Here is a story about a dog (Perro), I called Brownie. I came across Brownie in the coarse of my volunteer work at the local Animal Clinic. He was a small brown and black mix breed with long hair. Hard to tell what, maybe Shepard/Chow mix . He was brought into the clinic for boarding because his owner had fallen ill. We were to board him for an unknown time(hopeful for the owners recovery).Brownie was not very happy of the new arrangements and was quite the "Bad Dog"! So for 3-days I fed him by poking dog food under the gate of his kennel. He would lunge, growl, snap and bite at me if I did anything else...? I soon realized that Brownie did  not speak English...Normally I have pretty good communcation skills with animals, but I wasn't getting much response from Brownie. You don't speak Spanish...your not my friend!Grrrufff... So for the next few days I spoke my little bit (poquito) of Redneck Spanish to him...now I'm getting this puzzled response??? but at least I had his attention...
After about a week I finally manage to get a leash on Senor Brownie and I discovered his bark was worse than his bite. Once on the leash I walked with him quite sometime and he seemed truly grateful for the outside. Sun, fresh air and "Oh yes!", the green grass to roll in. Our progress for the next week was amazing to say the least, He knew if he let me put his leash on he would get to go outside for awhile, so we began a slow bond, and our communication skills improved with every day that passed.
After about 3- weeks, I came in to do my volunteer work one day and Brownie was gone... To my surprise, they had released him to Animal Control for euthanasia, because his owner had to be placed in a nursing home and He was too"Bad", for a normal Adoption. I Plead Brownie's case and agreed to adopt him, because I knew "His Bark was Worse than his Bite". This could be the end of the Story....But it's not...
I took Brownie home with me, knowing how he was I had to warn my nephews of his attitudes and to "Beware!" , which is something I feel is important with all situations involving kids and animals...BEWARE and Teach them Both Well, hopefully to keep them both safe from each other!
One day not long after, my nephew (then around age 5) came over to my house to visit, as I watched him through the window, crossing the yard and then to the fence I saw Brownie spot him...off he went chasing my nephew, Who is now screaming my name, jumping yelling and waving his hands in the air at Brownie... I kept yelling...No....No don't.....and Brownie bit him...too late... As I reached them to check my nephew's injury's I soon realized, both were OK... sigh Relieved. I saw that Brownie had not bitten into him only grabbed his hand, as he waved it around while he was screaming, and only skinned it a little bit (poquito). I told my nephew that it has always been my experience, "That you cannot out-run a dog!', So ....Stop..don't act frightened...don't wave your hands in the air or put them out to the dog...because they will bite them! So he agreed that he understood, what I was trying to teach him and off he went to show Mommy his war wounds. She comforted him as well, knowing that all in all, It's a good "Lesson Learned". She knew that I love my Nephew's as well, as my Animal's and that I would only try to teach them, what was in their best interest for their Life ahead.
"Boy was I wrong...!!" not about the advice but about Brownie...
One day not long after this event, I looked up to see my nephew coming again, so I quietly watched as he made his approach....he came through the fence....Brownie spotted him....He stopped...called Brownie calmly...Brownie kept coming at him....he stood firm....no screaming....he started up with his hands, then remembered better and shoved them in his pockets... Brownie kept coming.... my nephew then turned his back to him, still calm and refusing to run...and  Brownie bit him in the butt!..The End Right!!!
Naw... I have to tell you I added addtional advice for my nephew..., start carrying cookies in his pockets when he came to visit me and Brownie...soon he had Brownie eating from his hands too...Again Brownie's bite wasn't as bad as his bark...Only his English.

Confucius says:  Learn to  (Co-"Habitat'e) with your Environment". OK... so this isn't a real word, but it should be! Animals should not be killed simply because they will bite children ...Anymore than children should be killed because they bite children too! That comes under "Parenting  and Behavior Skills".  Watch...Teach...and Learn...!

Confused  says: "Always carry Cookies!"

Am I not the only one, who thinks Life is soooo confusing? There's an old saying that says: "  Get Off the Fence!!!"  I think it came from politics. Or maybe my Uncle, yelling at me because he didn't want to have
to fix the fence from us kids playing on it. Anyway I'm still stuck on the relevance of Politics and Animal issues.
So I have to mention a few more thoughts...sorry, maybe I'll be able to get back to the real Dog Tales soon!
Maybe you can help me with my choices?

Pro- Abortion- the right to decide what you do with your own person...
Pro-Life- the right to Live and protect the Lives of others and in others...
Pro-Euthanasia- the right to humanely dispose of the suffering and distressed...People and Animals....Puppies and Babies...(Government and Taxes)
Pro- Death Penalty the right to humanely euthanize those who inflict suffering on others...(More Government and more Taxes).
Pro- Less Government the right to freedom, to make your own choices. (Less Taxes).
Pro- Less Taxes the right to not have to pay for the results of other peoples choices. (Less taxes and Less Government).
Pro- Choice  Is the rights of  Freedom to choose.the difference between Right and Wrong
Pro-Religion is the right to worship your own God and hopefully make the right choices in Life
Pro-Government/Taxes/ and Euthanasia is because we make the wrong, "Choices ", We must make sacrifices..., or must We?

All this leads me to wonder, if sometimes, maybe God thinks, He made the wrong Choice in us? Armageddon/Euthanasia...? But then I think, No my God is Forgiving/ Kind/ and Loving...
and in the Hearts of us all, we are created in his image, we do have the ability to, Embrace the Good, be Kind to Others and Forgive the Bad...

Confucius: Is still thinking.....
Confused: Is getting off the fence (before uncle sees me:)...

Question: Are animal issues relative to politics?

I think everything in life is relative to the Big Picture. So where do you really stand on pro-choice? Some things are brought to us through tradition, such as : The idea that if you have puppies or kittens around your house that you do not want, you can take them to the country, and dump them on a farm, they always need more animals... and if you put them out there they will get really good homes...Yeah Right!!! Somewhere along the way, that stopped working....populations of people grew and the numbers of pets being discarded grows every day. Well... now, that's grown into,"It's illegal to dump unwanted pets". So we have created a legal way to dispose of them, by dropping them at the Animal Controls ( funded through tax $), There they have only 2 ways to escape....1- getting adopted ( slim ). These are Mutts People...Stop breeding them!!! And for all you special "Dog Breeder's out there, Do you have any idea? "How many purebreds dogs wind up here too?" Here's a little advice, if you don't....Search Petfinder....search Petango or just visit your local Animal Control, and get a reality  check. The other escape we have designed for them is euthanasia, (Death by lethal injection)...also designed to dispose of unwanted criminals...another political issue, (Death Penalty). So I say animal issues, are closely related to politics....choices...as well as, What's the right thing to do? Should others force us to do the right thing through laws and ordinances? Pro-Choice or Pro-Life...?  Pro-Euthanasia / Pro- Death Penalty, there seems to be a lot of conflicting ideals between us human's, but again I'm just guessing this is all part of the design of things much greater than I. And I believe we all do have the given right, to make the right choice and "Do the"Right Things" If all these other Pro's seem right..., then it seems that we should legalize sterilization for human's as well as pets...

Confucius says: He don't have much to say about politics, He's leaving this one up to Confused...
Confused says:  Just live life through your soul...and your heart and you won't fall far from God's path...
Oh Yeah! ...And Spay and Neuter....almost forgot...

Story 1- ( Mama Chow)

One day during the coarse of my routine, I came across a Chow dog who had given birth to her pups, in the roots of a huge Banyan tree. I left dog food for them but the ( mama chow ) did not appear friendly at all. She would make a large circle out, when i would approach, circling around growling and snarling... coming back closer to see what I was doing around her pups. I came back after work for a few days to leave food for them and everyday was the same, ( Mama Chow ) would growl and snarl and circle back, forcing me to move away from the pups. Curious of their situation, I asked the caretaker of the property, " Who they belonged to? And He told me they were dumped and left wild. The owners of the properties had asked him to poison them, since they were too wild to catch...:( These types of situations always sadden me, so I offered to help and asked for some time to work with the Mama and her pups in hopes of befriending them enough to catch and find new homes for them, hopefully before they met their demise, from  a different means, than God had intended...(* It is not legal to poison, shoot or injure an animal, unless they are attacking humans or livestock.), the caretaker gladly agreed to give me some time.
So every day for a week, I went to feed them and every day the same...growling...snarling...circling, no change for Mama Chow, but the pups were getting friendly enough so I could pick them up now. So I devised a plan to trap ( Mama Chow ). I brought hamburger, chicken and more dog food for the attempt. I left the back of my SUV open, placed all the pups inside with some food and then I hid behind some bushes waiting for the Mama to make her circle...growling...snarling...circling...OK! here she comes back... waiting...waiting, OK she's moving closer now...she's up and in with the pups...SLAM the hatch....
Gotcha!!! OK yes!!! This is great right? All my hard work payed off, I finally had them...No!!! Oh no!!!  How do you drive an SUV with a snarling....growling ( Mama Chow ), who is now eating your car?

Confucius says : "If you can't teach an old dog new tricks...Leave it alone."
Confused says:  " If you find an old dog  in your SUV... unload the pups and rethink your position."

Introducton

Hi! It's me yep, sometimes known as confused, but that's OK I'm told I'm related to that little Chinese man known as Confucius.
I wish to express some views relating to Animal rescue, a passion I have had for most of my life. These tales do not always have a happy endings, but are hard lessons, learned from the heart. My efforts are directed, to hopefully  improve animal awareness in others. Too many abuses occur from not knowing what to do or not caring enough to do anything. We all should make efforts care about the results of our actions upon others...To include the abuse of Animals...We must do more!!!
If you see a young child lost in a store, Do you leave them, to be abducted/raped and killed?  Or do you...do the right thing and help him find his parents? It's a "No Brain-er"!  You see? We really don't have a choice in whats right and wrong...right is the only way, if you care for others. You will help the child find their way Home...unless you are the  abuser...The message is the same for Animals...Be Ware...These tales are meant to teach lessons and may contain graphic details...

Story 1 will be of What I call ( Mama Chow )
Confucius Say's: "If you can't teach an old dog new tricks....Leave them alone"
